This rustic logging town with a handful of paved streets offers the most economical lodgings in the canyon. Creel (rhymes with "feel") is also the starting point for some of the best side trips of the region. Creel sits at an elevation of 2,210m (7,249 ft.); its population of around 6,000 makes it the largest town in the canyon area.
