Club Med's Current Sale Nearly Halves Vacation Costs

Activities for the kids, booze and beach for the adults, plus endless meals and snacks, all at one prepaid price—these are the reasons many families choose all-inclusive resort vacations. They're just so easy.

And Club Med, a pioneer of this type of travel, is making pandemic-era vacations even easier by offering testing onsite plus a travel insurance policy with "coverage for emergency medical expenses during [the guest's] stay, including those related to Covid-19." So, like the frozen piña coladas, coronavirus tests and insurance will now be included in your vacation costs.

Best of all, those costs are going to be much lower for the coming weeks and months.

Club Med is holding a sale through the end of June that slashes 45% off its regular rate at six of its resorts: Club Med Cancun (pictured above, in Mexico), Club Med Caravelle (Guadeloupe), Club Med Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda (Dominican Republic), Club Med Sandpiper Bay (Florida), and Club Med Quebec (Canada).

The last one on the list is debuting in December, so it just makes it into this deal, which is for vacations between now and December 17 (minus some blackout dates).

Airfare is not included, so be sure to price that before booking. But I was heartened to see room rates starting at just $130 per adult per night at Club Med's Florida property north of West Palm Beach. Kids under 17 get a slightly better discount (50%) and kids 4 and under stay for free. Happily, this promotion also waives the single supplement—a big win for people traveling solo.

You'll find the sale plastered across the homepage of Club Med's website.
